Thrown into San Francisco Bay, this bottle is called Unicorns, Unicorns, Unicorns for the letter "u". While researching images, I came across so many depictions of unicorns. Unicorns are mythical creatures symbolizing purity and their horns were reputed to heal. Some are elegant white horses, others are very stubby and goat-like. It's fascinating that the creatures span the mythologies of ancient cultures as diverse as India, Africa, China, and Greece. Real animals that they may be based upon range from rhinoceroses to narwhals. The rarity of this animal makes it all the more precious. This collage was also inspired in part by my friends Adam and Kristine...in some nebulous way, the imagery fit, and the border of the actual collage is an exquisite, robin's egg blue, the same color they painted their living room wall.
