tea turbulence 04 / 26, open culture bottle project

Bottle Launch From the Sea Spirit expedition ship, May 26, 2016. Anja Erdmann, Poseidon Expeditions’ expedition leader on this trip, chose the time and place for the bottle toss. Given the waves and currents, and the fact that West Greenland’s small population lives mostly in villages deep in ice-free fjords, picking a place where there was chance that it would be found by a human being was quite a challenge. Hope that some Greenlandic villager/fisherman does find it. 62°27′N -50°48′W.

Vision

Tea Turbulence, the third bottle thrown, was inspired by my love of tea and tea culture, turbans,  and hammam spas. I found the perfect cork to emulate a round turbanish aspect ( a cork from a tequila bottle) and a beautiful cobalt blue bottle seemed fitting to throw into the chilly depths off of Greenland. A family friend who is a travel writer graciously offered to throw it off an expedition ship.
