Bottle Launch from Surfside Beach, Texas into the Gulf of Mexico, by Eric Blinn, who was accompanied by Lisa Blinn. The throw happened on October 30, 2016.

    In Lisa's words "It was a remarkably blue day and the Gulf was filled with surfers, and the pier was lined with fisherfolk and photographers. On our way out we saw 4 dolphins frolicking in the surf, playing with the massive pelicans that populate our coast. When we reached our destination, I said a wee prayer for the safety of the bottle and its journey and Eric threw it as far as he could out into the Gulf. Almost as soon as it landed, a large pelican came and guarded it as it bobbed off in the waves. About three minutes later, two additional dolphins arrived from the southwest to join the pod. We also picked up lots of trash as we left the jetty.
     The most amazing thing happened at that point, something that Eric and I have never experienced in all our weekends at the Gulf. We came across 3 German tourists who we had met earlier, and 3 marine conservationists. They were trying to decide how to rescue a stranded green sea turtle who appeared to have become entangled in fishing line and perhaps hooks. Eric had a small multi-tool which they needed to release the turtle in order to bring her in for rehab. We helped them get her to shore and then the marine turtle rescue folks arrived. She is in good hands now. Thank you for sending us on this incredible mission today--it was a day of serious power for Eric and me." 28°55' 50.3"N, 95°17'18.4" W
